EXPLORING TOURIST DESTINATIONS IN ALBAY

This post that hopes to help us explore the province of Albay, is dedicated to the promotion and discovery of the province tourist attractions.  It also hopes to gather the right balance of information for an enjoyable online experience.

WHERE IS THE PROVINCE OF ALBAY?

Albay province is emerging as a favorite tourist destination.  Aside from Albay’s iconic Mayon volcano and Cagsawa Ruins, the presence of whale sharks known locally as “Butanding” has drawn local and foreign tourists to the province, particularly in Legazpi City where the gentle giants have frequently been seen.

Albay is a province of the Philippines located in the Bicol Region in southeastern Luzon Island. The capital of the province is Legazpi City, the regional administrative center of Bicol region, which is located in the southern foothill of Mayon Volcano, the symbol most associated with the province. This near perfectly-shaped active volcano forms a scenic backdrop to the city of Legazpi and is visible throughout the municipalities and cities of Albay including the surrounding provinces.
